Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation Awards Record $37,500 in Health Sciences Scholarships

to Southeast Alaska Students

The Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation (Foundation) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026–2027 Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarships. This year, the Foundation awarded a record $37,500 in scholarships to 16 Southeast Alaska students pursuing careers in healthcare.

The Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship program supports the education and professional development of Southeast Alaska students pursuing degrees in health science fields. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to improving the health of their communities, with preference given to graduate-level and professional degree candidates who intend to return to Southeast Alaska to practice.

The 2026–2027 Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship recipients are:

• Skye Deal – Linfield University, Nursing

• Adella Dihle – Bachelor's Nursing

• Jenna Dobson – University of Montana, Bachelor of Science in Integrative Physiology

• Jean-Luc Lewis – Brown University, Family Medicine

• Kristina McDougal – Ohio University, Master of Science in Nursing

• Elizabeth Plett – Gonzaga University, Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner

• Benjamin Undurraga – University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

• Braith Dihle – University of Alaska Anchorage, Nursing

• Peter Flynn – University of Providence, Nursing

• Isabelle Hansen – University of Alaska Fairbanks, Clinical Mental Health

• Hannah Mitchell – University of Texas at Austin, Master of Social Work

• Lillian Pader – Harvard College, Chemistry

• Marlaine Pedersen – University of Alaska Anchorage, Bachelor's Nursing

• Soren Thompson – University of Washington, Bachelor's Nursing

• Christine Yadao – Alaska Pacific University, Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (Pre-Nursing)

 Since its inception in 2009, the Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship program has awarded $408,250 to Southeast Alaska students pursuing health science degrees. The program reflects the Foundation's ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals and strengthening access to quality healthcare throughout Southeast Alaska.

In 2026, the Bartlett Foundation has contributed more than $85,000 to support staff trainings, education, internships, and more at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
